White Hall is located beside Lovill Residence Hall. White Hall is a co-ed residence hall. Named after R. B. White. He was a member of the North Carolina General Assembly of 1903 which established Appalachian. Mr. White was one of three young Senators who signed a minority report which carried the bill to establish Appalachian to the Senate floor, where, on the last day, each made a speech on behalf of the bill. The bill passed by only one vote, and a new institution was thus established - and it became Appalachian Training School for Teachers. |
